Conflict Management Training 1 – Personal Safety
ICSE Conflict Management’s Personal Safety programme covers the essential tools in identifying and tackling workplace violence using conflict management solutions and diffusion methods.

Course Content
This course looks to provide staff with as many techniques as possible to prevent aggression or violence from happening. Trainers focus on aggression diffusion techniques, on how to avoid conflict and the key aspects of personal safety.
Participants learn how to:
- ▪ Identify workplace violence.
- ▪ Manage communication and blocks to communication.
- ▪ Identify triggers and inhibitors.
- ▪ Perform dynamic risk assessment (situation awareness, SAFER and POP).
- ▪ Be aware of the Adrenal Path – Fight, flight or freeze.
- ▪ Identify conflict management laws – Non-Fatal Offences, reasonable force and H&S law (duty of care).
Course Delivery
This course is delivered over one half day classroom session. The programme is delivered through a mixture of role play, video review, group tasks, skills demonstrations, peer evaluation and other interactive techniques. This allows for quick transfer of techniques directly to the workplace.
